regift
(verb) give a gift one has received as a gift to someone else
(noun) an item that has been regifted
Fun Fact
The term "regift"was popularized in an episode of Seinfeld in 1995. Elaine bought a label maker as a Christmas gift for a friend. Then, she discovered the friend had given that label maker as a gift to Jerry. Upset and offended, Elaine exclaimed, "He recycled this gift. He's a re-gifter!" Since then, the word has grown in popularity as evidenced by funny memes and opinion articles, both for and against it, shared across social media.
Overall regifting is a socially acceptable practice as long as you don't violate the "regift etiquette" by doing something weird, thoughtless or offensive (like the label maker recycler guy). With all the Dos and Don'ts, the whole thing can get a bit messy!
The Perfect Present
In a world where troubles, grief, and pain are a certainty, our peace lies solely in Christ (John 16:33). And, God in his unfailing, ever-present love wraps us in His gift of comfort in seasons of suffering, so that we can regift that comfort to someone else who needs it. It's the gift you receive that keeps on giving, even after you give it away. This is the ultimate regift and the purpose for The Comfort Regift blog.

The content of this blog is my regift to you! In future blogs, I will share the comfort God has and is giving me amid the worst, heart-shattering yet miraculous season of my life. I hope to inspire, uplift and encourage you so that you can do the same for others.
The reel below expresses how God becomes real to us when we need him most. I can say that scriptures I've known my whole life hit different now that I am clinging to Christ for the will to get up each morning. So many people I know personally are suffering some difficulty or loss. And, while I'm sharing how God strengthens and comforts me in my weakness, I hope you will likewise regift the comfort with which He is comforting you so that we can collectively heal, and stand, and glorify Him.
